WG Kids Trek: Children of the World,
Students of the Universe
|
Mensan parents, take note: as you might expect, the WG's program track for children offers more thought-provoking fare than cartoon critters and amusement-park rides. This Kids Trek is the greatest challenge many of the planners have ever attempted; they are doing their best to create a memorable, educational experience for children from all over the world who travel to Orlando for the World Gathering in August.
Kids Trek has been coordinated at American Mensa Annual Gatherings since 1997 by Martha (Feld) Williams, an incredible teacher and Mensan. Your 4- to 12-year-olds will love this program's planned daily events and activities.

Enrollment
To ensure a high-quality program, Kids Trek will be limited to the first 100 children who enroll; children need not be registered Mensans themselves but may be the registered children of registered Mensans. Further, at least one adult related to the child is required to volunteer for two hours in Kids Trek, either as a Presenter or as a Guide for a group of five to ten children.
To be a part of the WG06 Kids Trek, you must register both the adult and child(ren) for the WG and then email Martha Williams as soon as possible with the following information for each child enrolled:
1. Child's name (of course)
2. Child's date of birth — month and year
3. Name of parent(s)/guardian(s)
4. Email address or telephone number of parent(s)/guardian(s)
5. Which two hours the parent(s)/guardian(s) prefer to volunteer. The hours need not be consecutive, but each time does need to be a complete 60 minutes. Kids Trek will run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m.
6. Any special needs of the child, such as allergies, etc.
7. Any other information that you think should be noted.
Email enrollment for Kids Trek must be completed by Friday, Aug. 4. After that date, enrollment for Kids Trek will be made in the Kids Trek room onsite after the child and adult have both registered for the World Gathering.
